OLA CEO Bhavish Aggarwal Seeks Ideas for New AI Project “Krutrim”
Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder and CEO of Ola, revealed on X (Formerly Twitter), that his company is working on a new project related to artificial intelligence. The company, which is known for its cab services and electric scooters, is aiming to compete with giants like OpenAI and Google in creating an AI Chat app.
Aggarwal named the project ‘Krutrim’, which is also the name of a company he registered earlier this year under Krutrim SI Designs. He asked his followers on X what kind of features they would like to see in an AI, especially from the perspective of Indian AI users. He promised to include the most interesting ideas in the product roadmap of his company. He also offered a free Ola S1X+ scooter as a reward for the best idea.
In a follow-up tweet, Aggarwal said, “AI is transforming the world rapidly and it will boost human productivity, accelerate science and discovery. We, humans, can finally aspire to be free from doing tasks that a computer can do and truly expand the frontiers of knowledge and creativity. India has a unique cultural ethos of seeking and metaphysical exploration, which can give it an edge in the future of AI. Along with its technological and economic progress, India can become the global leader for this new era of AI.”
This announcement came soon after Aggarwal’s conversation with spiritual leader Sadhguru at the INSIGHT 2023 conference, organized by the Sadhguru Academy where they discussed electric vehicles and artificial intelligence. He said that AI will be a ‘very strong force for cultural assimilation’. He also said that India needs its own AI as most of the other popular large language models are not trained on Indian data. He also stressed the importance of training the AI in various ‘Indian languages’.
