Evan Greenberg Career

After joining AIG in 1975, Greenberg spent 25 years working for his father. In addition to serving as CEO of AIG Far East, which was situated in Korea and Japan, he also held a variety of high managerial roles, including president and CEO of AIU Holdings, AIG’s overseas insurance subsidiary. He was AIG’s president and chief operating officer from 1997 until 2000. Though he was seen as the clear successor to lead the firm as CEO, he departed in 2000 and became vice chairman of ACE in November 2001. In 2004, he took over as CEO of ACE. He was one of the CEOs who declined to participate in a rescue that was paid for by taxpayers during the 2008 financial crisis. It was revealed in February 2011 that Greenberg had joined The Coca-Cola Company as a director.

In addition, Greenberg is a board member of the US-China Business Council and the National Committee on United States-China Relations.
